The Re:story: An Evolution of Gut Health Science.
Because, We Asked a Different Question.
For years, patients walked into gastroenterology offices with
the same story:
Bloating. Pressure. Discomfort. A gut that felt unpredictable
They had tried everything: probiotics, elimination diets, fiber, prescriptions, "healthy eating." Yet nothing truly held.
And too often, the answer they heard was: "We don't know."
For Dr. Ken Brown, that wasn't good enough.
Why Dr. Ken Brown Started This Journey
As a board-certified gastroenterologist who has performed more than 20,000 endoscopies and colonoscopies, he kept seeing the same pattern. Patients weren't just dealing with random digestive symptoms. Something deeper was happening inside the gut.
So instead of asking:
"How do we treat bloating?"
He asked:
"What is actually causing it?"
What The Research Revealed
The answer pointed to the small intestine.
For many people, microbes normally meant to stay in the colon were showing up too early in the digestive process. As they interacted with food, they produced hydrogen and methane gas.
Those gases change everything.
It slows movement through the digestive tract. Slower movement creates buildup. More buildup creates pressure.
That pressure is what many people experience as bloating, fullness, discomfort, and irregular digestion.
But one discovery became especially important:
Certain methane-producing archaea rely on protective outer cell structures to survive and thrive in the gut environment.
A Different Approach to Gut Health
That research became the foundation for Atrantil. A formulation built around mechanism, not trends. By combining quebracho with horse chestnut and peppermint leaf, the goal was to support:
• microbial balance
• normal gas production
• motility
• digestive comfort
without disrupting the gut's entire ecosystem.
Since then, the work has expanded into a broader mission through Regarding Your Gut: helping people understand what is actually happening inside their bodies and giving them tools grounded in science, mechanism, and clinical experience.
Why We Exist
We believe people deserve better answers about their gut health.
Not fear. Not confusion. Not endless symptom management.
Understanding creates change.
When you understand the process, you can change the outcome.
That belief drives everything we do:
education, research, clinical conversations, formulations, and products designed to work with the body, not against it.
The Bottom Line
This didn't start in a boardroom.
It started with years of patients being told, "We don't know," or "Don't worry, it's just IBS."
So we kept asking questions until we found a better answer.
